9:50 My Grandmother worked in a morgue ( as a teen in the Depression Era) for a while. She always told us to wear clean underwear whenever we leave the house. My mom said it was incase we died or went to a hospital (car accident possibly) we wouldn't cause any embarrassment or shame due to "skid marks" in our drawers. Must have been something my grandmother witnessed first hand. I'd think in most any serious accident, the undies would get soiled. Maybe at that age she didn't know that.

Whenever we travel, I do a very thorough home clean. I even have an “in case of death” binder that I put out. My husband thinks it’s a bit much, but if we die, I don’t want my loved ones coming in and seeing my house a mess. The other win is that when we come home, the house is clean and it’s so much easier to unpack and get right back into normalcy .

I knew how to fold the fitted sheet. I can say that it is easier and much faster than in the video. It may look discouraging while watching, but I can say from experience with a bit of practice it becomes quick.

I got all the storage containers for my son's toys and the little pieces still get all over. Managing them is a hassle. Now I am tossing unused little items and he has a big toy box he can dump it all in and close the lid on.

Is this a stupid question? I love the idea of emptying staples into containers, but never can figure out what to do with the amount still in my container from before. I mean, I usually don't wait until I'm totally out of flour/sugar/etc (meaning totally empty container) before re-stocking.

I can’t agree with you more on intentionally slowing down. I started doing this in the morning before my kids go to school. It used to be a mad rush out the door, but when I started slowing down, realizing we weren’t going to be late, it made a drastic difference. My kids go to school calm and happy instead of feeling frantic and short tempered. I love your videos!!

I love your videos in general, but I think this one is particularly brilliant. I totally agree about your penultimate point - slow down your life - and can relate to your check-out example. I find it really stressfull going through the check out, and I too have recently started trying to conciously relax - remind myself I am where I am, and that rushing, getting flustered is going to make the situation worse. Taking a deep breath, and taking my time, and even, trying to enjoy the moment (not always possible). But it really helps. I've also been trying to take this approach in other areas of my life - like traffic jams when I'm already running late - me getting tense isn't going to get me there any faster. It's really hard though, and I don't always manage - but the times I do - WHAT a difference! :)

I've been using Brick for scaling back on phone time & it's a great option if you want your phone around for certain things, like directions/photos/calculator/banking/texts but don't want to get sucked in to scrolling.

GREAT video. We did many of these things with our kids toys as they were growing up. It kept our toy room so much cleaner. They knew exactly where to put things.

We have a laundry chute which makes separating laundry so much harder. 😅 Maybe I need to put a little lock on it, ha!
